ABOUT OUR ASSOCIATION

Tamboon - Peachtree Association

The Tamboon Peachtree Association Inc is a local group of community members that stand to represent the needs the Tamboon residents post the 2020 bushfires.

2020 BUSHFIRES

Tamboon township was saved from loss when the fire front hit the area. Thanks to the 6 locals who were there with thrown together fire equipment and one truck from Newmerella. Loss to property was reduced to some fencing. Couple of wood heaps and some garden beds.

No buildings homes boats or vehicles lost and the township is now a small triangle of green surrounded by black bush.

The fire has gone along the camp sites and up Fishermans Track. Many animals took refuge here or along the unburnt shoreline.

All bush at Fabios Rocks and along area to Clinton Rocks was burnt out.

Special thanks to THE TAMBOON 6 -  Frank Herbert, Joe Di Luca, Ado Marchi, Glen Herbert, Dean Herbert,

Ernie Vare for saving our little township and to all other support persons and government departments

who assisted after the fire.

SUPPORTING THE RECOVERY OF OUR NATIVE BIRDS

With the fires decimating most of the surrounding bush area, local TPA members, the Baines family, supplied and erected several new much needed nesting boxes throughout the Tamboon area.
